Georgian Silk Stumpwork Picture Animal Print Velvet Dating from the mid 20thThis wonderful Georgian picture portrays a delightful scene, embroidered on silk, depicting a lady with two children under an oak tree. Stumpwork and a variety of stitches have been used in this antique needlework and the faces have been very well painted. Organic materials used in this period are prone to fading, but the colours here are still strong. There is a tiny blemish just over the back of the chair, but considering this work is over 200 years
