This horse is handmade completely from clay. After forming the horse, it was colored in a light blue clay and burnished with a soft cloth to create a smooth finish. Once bisque fired, it was fired in a raku kiln and while the piece was red hot, it was removed from the kiln and actual horse hair was burned onto the surface to create the black lines.
