Stairway Size:L Recovery Ward at RozelleA narrow stairway climbs through a decaying timber frame structure in Yubari City, its walls stripped back to bare plaster and peeling paint, dust settled thick on every horizontal surface. Buildings like this one housed the families of miners who worked the coalfields at the city's peak. Coal mining in Yubari ran from the 1890s until the last mine closed in 1990.
