Wood was collected on the Uncompahgre Plateau where the old oak had been killed in the Bull Draw fire in the summer of 2018

Natural buffed finish. This piece was from the base of the root ball of an ancient ponderosa pine that was logged off on the Uncompahgre Plateau over one hundred years ago. I started with a piece that weighed over 250 lbs in the lathe. The finished product weights approximately 22 lbs.
