Their flight is pure poetry with their fast turns, low dives, and effortless movement. This piece comes from a memory of watching them with my family in a big meadow in Bend, Oregon. We tried to take photos, but the birds were too quick. The moment, though, stayed with me. Safe Return is about that mix of motion and rest, and the comfort of coming back to a
