Cadherin-22 Polyclonal Antibody, 100ul Funnels The protein encoded by thisCDH22 (cadherin 22) is a member of the cadherin superfamily. The gene product is composed of five cadherin repeat domains and a cytoplasmic tail similar to the highly conserved cytoplasmic region of classical cadherins. Expressed predominantly in the brain, this putative calcium dependent cell adhesion protein may play an important role in morphogenesis and tissue formation in neural and non neural cells during development and maintenance of the brain

Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glutathione peroxidase family| members of which catalyze the reduction of hydrogen peroxide| organic hydroperoxides and lipid hydroperoxides| and thereby protect cells against oxidative damage

Members of this Type 1 transmembrane protein family share structural characteristics including an extracellular domain consisting of multiple epidermal growth factor-like (EGF) repeats

This protein is likely responsible for the conversion of inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) to diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (InsP7/PP-InsP5)

and for the association of the BAF complex with chromatin/matrix

with the SV40 large T-antigen binding only to the unphosphorylated form of each protein
