The bowl is in a subtle quatrefoil form. Around the lid and the interior of the bowl, there are two intricate scenes of traditionally garbed Chinese figures alternating with two rich and colorful scenes of birds and flowers. The lid also displays two smaller round scenes of birds and flowers. The lip of the dish has a border of green scroll
