Raised on an octagonal platform surmounted by concentric turned plates, the column rises from a bulbous, gadrooned vase that together anchor the piece and offer a stable platform above. The tapering column is decorated with a helical reeding and, in classical proportion, is dressed with a collar featuring a reciprocating fret.
