A useful trick when checking for flatness is to scribble pencil across the stone and check to see when the pencil marks have disappeared

Leather Tool Roll Narex 811603 The locking knob is recessedThis 12 pocket leather tool roll is made by Rustic Town in India from very good quality buffalo leather and works well for holding chisels, gouges, files, knives, rasps, and other small tools that need protecting. The pockets will hold tools with 1" (25 mm) diameter handles or smaller. We find that the leather is fairly stiff when new so takes some breaking in. Note that the tools are not included but shown for illustration only.
