Originally it would have been made for use in a school. It has been lightly restored in an artisan workshop in Beijing and finished with a black colour. Rubbed back areas expose natural wood below. These special little chairs are of course wonderful in a child's bedroom or playroom but are equally at home as little plant pot holders or decorative features
