This planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and finished by hand carving the design

Yellow Sgraffito Carved Bowl bowl the design was carved outThis bowl was thrown on the pottery wheel, then decorated with a yellow underglaze. When it was dry enough to handle, the design was carved by hand using the sgraffito technique revealing the contrasting clay underneath. It was then fired in the kiln at 2170F. The clay is a warm ivory colored ceramic stoneware, and is glazed with a glossy clear coat inside and out. H: 2. 5" W: 3. 75" D: 3. 75"
