The entire upper shoulders and down each sleeve of the exterior chiffon overlay has fine flat pleats worked into them that become a design element on their own! I love that the cut is full on the outer dress so you can wear it loose and easy or tie at at the waist to create shape. The tie belt is original and is a long rectangle so it could also be worn around the neck
