I think at some point both pieces were lined and the set has a bit softer feel to it now then if it was still lined

A band runs across the bust above that to hold it in place

The dress is fully lined in fine black silk crepe and it closes with a hidden side side zipper

you can easily style this with a belt and even play with the length once belted

It was made under the creative direction of Azzedine Alaia. Azzedine Alaia pieces are always a delight to find. His knits were all self developed and are among the best out there. He started his career as a dressmakers assistant and copied couture gowns for wealthy Tunisian clients. In 1957 he moved to Paris and worked for Christian Dior for a grand total of five days. He then moved to Guy Laroche and
